On 25 January 2020, the Council received a number of complaints in respect of the Carp Show event at the Brentwood Centre in relation to the dangerous parking of cars around the surrounding roads in the vicinity of the Brentwood Centre. It is proposed that officers explore options for possible solutions to the parking issue at this annual event to minimize the problems on the surrounding roads.

 

Members welcomed this report.

 

 

Following a full discussion a  motion was MOVED by Cllr Poppy and SECONDED by Cllr Tierney to approve the recommendation in the report.

 

R1. For delegated authority given to Chief Executive together with any

relevant Officers to explore options for possible solutions to the issues of parking around the Brentwood Centre site and bring a report back to the appropriate committee for Member consideration

 

A vote was taken by a show of hands and it was RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY to approve the recommendation as amended:

 

For delegated authority to be given to the Chief Executive together with any relevant Officers to explore options for possible solutions to the issues of parking and management of large events around the Brentwood Centre site and bring a report back to the appropriate committee for Member consideration.

 

 

Reason for Recommendation

 

The outcome of the report will come back to the relevant committee which will

set out a number of options including indicative costings for Members to consider and improve the parking situation around the Brentwood Centre.
